Investigators with the Philadelphia Police Department were busy overnight as officers were spotted working at separate scenes in Northeast Philly following a shooting.
According to police, the initial investigation began after a report of a shooting along the 4600 block of Shelmire Avenue in the Holmesburg section of Northeast Philadelphia just after 11:10 p.m. on Wednesday.
In a morning update, police said a 46-year-old man was driving along the roadway when his vehicle was shot at several times by an unknown shooter.
The driver, officials said, suffered cuts due to broken glass caused by gunfire.
A 34-year-old passenger in the backseat of the vehicle suffered two gunshot wounds to his legs, police said.
The pair remained in the vehicle and drove to Nazareth Hospital, where officials said, they were both listed in stable condition.
At the Shelmire Avenue scene, officers could be seen collecting evidence, including finding spent shell casings along the ground.
Officers outside Nazareth Hospital, about two-and-a-half miles from the other scene, were also conducting a shooting investigation early Thursday.
Here, investigators were seen combing through a vehicle parked outside the hospital that had a shattered passenger side window.
An investigation into this incident is underway, officials said.
