Pennsylvania court denies new trial for ex-judge convicted of shooting boyfriend
DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. —
A Pennsylvania Superior Court judge has denied a new trial for former Dauphin County Judge Sonya McKnight, who was convicted of attempted homicide and aggravated assault.
McKnight was convicted in April 2025 after shooting her former boyfriend, Michael McCoy, in the face while he was asleep.
Her attorney had appealed the conviction, seeking a new trial, but the court upheld her sentence of 13 and a half to 30 years in prison.
