A new early learning center is opening its doors in Erie with a mission to help address the community’s growing demand for childcare, particularly for children with special needs.
The Dream Center’s new early learning program is designed to serve children from 12 months old through pre-kindergarten, providing families with expanded access to quality care and early education opportunities.
The need for childcare continues to grow across the region, with many families facing lengthy waiting lists to secure spots for their children. The challenge is often even greater for families seeking programs equipped to support children with developmental, behavioral, or special learning needs.
Center leaders say their goal is straightforward: ensure every child receives the tools, resources, and support necessary to succeed.
To help accomplish that goal, the program will take a different approach to early learning. The center plans to maintain smaller class sizes and place a strong emphasis on intentional play, creating individualized learning experiences that support each child’s development.
A key component of the program is its partnership with behavior specialists, who will work alongside educators to help them better understand and meet the unique needs of every child. Organizers say the collaboration will provide teachers with additional strategies and resources to create successful learning environments for all students.

Dream Builders has also partnered with the Children’s Advocacy Center to offer drop-in childcare services for families facing temporary needs. The service is intended to assist parents who may need childcare while attending court hearings, appointments, or other important obligations.
As Erie continues to face a shortage of available childcare options, organizers hope the new center will help fill a critical gap while providing families with greater access to inclusive, high-quality early childhood education.
The center’s leaders say their focus remains on creating a supportive environment where children of all abilities can learn, grow, and prepare for future success.
