Alan J. Rozelle
OBITUARY
Alan J. Rozelle, 77, of Scranton, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Allied Hospice Center after a long illness. His wife is the former Rosemary “Kootz” Koziol. The couple would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on August 25th.
Born January 7, 1949 in Scranton, he was the son of the late Robert, Sr. and Jane Thomas Rozelle. Prior to his retirement, Alan was employed by National Book Company.
A loving husband, brother, and friend, Alan was an amazing athlete and was an all-star in his Little League career.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his brothers, Gary Rozelle, TN, and Robert Rozelle, Sr., FL; a sister-in-law, Beverly Ogonowski, and a brother-in-law, Joseph Koziol, and several nieces and nephews. Also, close friends, and caregivers to both Alan and Rosemary, Barry Knoch and Alice Jones.
A brother, David Rozelle, was KIA in Vietnam in 1968.
A Celebration of Alan’s Life will be held on Monday, August 31st, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 316 William Street, Scranton to be celebrated by Rev. Cyril Edwards, pastor. Interment will be private in Dunmore Cemetery.
