Announcement is made of the engagement and upcoming wedding of Gina Maria Biancarelli, Jessup, to Michael Anthony Rocco, Throop.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Bruce Biancarelli and Christina Biancarelli, Jessup. She is a graduate of Valley View High School, and earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a doctorate in nursing from the University of Scranton. She is a certified registered nurse anesthetist at Geisinger Community Medical Center.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Dominick Rocco Jr. and Audrey Rocco, Throop. He is a graduate of Holy Cross High School, and earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Marywood University and a doctorate in nursing from the University of Scranton. He is a certified registered nurse anesthetist at Geisinger Community Medical Center.
The couple met working as ICU nurses at Regional Hospital in Scranton during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021.
The wedding is set for Sept. 12, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Throop.
