LOWER MOUNT BETHEL TOWNSHIP, Pa. — One person is dead, and another seriously injured following a two-motorcycle crash in Northampton County on Saturday afternoon.
State police say the collision happened around 5 p.m. near Route 611 and Ott Drive in Lower Mount Bethel Township.
46-year-old Chad Hess of Bangor, PA died at the scene. 50-year-old John Gurski of Bangor was taken to St. Luke’s Anderson campus with serious injuries.
Both riders were wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
Police say the riders were moving in opposite directions on N. Delaware Drive in Lower Mount Bethel, when Hess lost control of his southbound cycle and crossed into the northbound lane, striking Gurski’s bike.
Pennsylvania State Police Belfast is investigating the cause of the crash.
