SCRANTON — State police launched an investigation after drugs were found inside a reentry facility in the city’s downtown, according to a public information release issued by PSP.
Troopers responded to Geo Group Reentry Services, 307 Adams Ave., after receiving a report Aug. 25 regarding unattended drugs found in a common area of the building, state police said.
GEO provides individuals who have transitioned from incarceration to the community with temporary housing, behavioral treatment, substance abuse treatment, and employment and education programs, according to the corporation’s website.
The drugs were turned over to state police as troopers work to identify the owner of the narcotics, according to the release.
Troopers are urging whoever owns the drugs to turn themselves in to state police.
