United Neighborhood Centers of Northeastern Pennsylvania received a $10,000 grant from the Hawk Family Foundation in support of its SCOLA program, helping expand educational opportunities for adult learners in the community. UNC’s SCOLA programming serves adult learners at varying literacy and English proficiency levels, providing foundational language skills paired with long-term goal setting through career exploration, education and training, and pathways into high-demand careers. Services are offered free with both in-person and virtual options, including group classes, one-on-one tutoring and access to technology for independent self-study.
