EASTON, Pa. – Fans of Big Macs, Chicken McNuggets and Filet-O-Fish sandwiches will soon have a newly constructed restaurant to be “lovin’ it” in Northampton County.
A grand reopening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for a newly rebuilt McDonald’s restaurant at 201 S. Third St. in Easton will be held on Sept. 22, according to an online announcement from the restaurant’s owner, Jamen McDonald’s Group.
A former McDonald’s structure at the same site was demolished in April to make way for construction of the new building with enhancements.
For the past several weeks, Jamren has been recruiting and hiring employees, “working to build a strong team before opening day,” according to the announcement posted Monday on Jamren’s Facebook page.
The Easton restaurant’s new crew members have been completing orientation and starting training at Jamren’s other McDonald’s locations.
Finishing touches are being made on a newly rebuilt McDonald’s restaurant at 201 S. Third St. in Easton ahead of a planned grand reopening later this month.

“To the Downtown Easton community: we have missed you,” the online announcement continues.
“This reopening is about much more than a beautiful new building. It is an opportunity for us to reconnect with our neighbors, rebuild community partnerships, create jobs, support local organizations, and once again become an active part of Downtown Easton.”
In April 2025, Easton City Council approved a certificate of appropriateness to demolish and rebuild the longstanding fast-food restaurant.
The COA involved the construction of a larger 4,000-square-foot McDonald’s building that’s centrally on the site with parking distributed around the perimeter.
Parking spaces were reduced in number, and a new, dual-lane drive-thru was added.
Also, new signage was installed, and additional site improvements such as new landscaping and lighting were implemented.
McDonald’s, serving burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries and more, is a popular quick-service restaurant chain with over 45,000 locations in over 100 countries.
Approximately 95% of McDonald’s restaurants worldwide are owned and operated by independent local business owners, according to a business description.
Jamren is led by Co-Owners James and Karen McIntyre of Bethlehem.
James, a graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, is a second-generation owner/operator that began working in his family’s restaurants after a career in aviation as a flight instructor and international charter pilot.
In addition to the Easton restaurant, Jamren operates five other McDonald’s restaurants on Easton-Nazareth Highway in Lower Nazareth Township, Main Street in Hellertown, Short Drive in Upper Saucon Township, North West End Boulevard in Quakertown and John Fries Highway in Milford Township.
The McIntyres are passionate about giving back to the community and foster an environment of giving back to the communities that their McDonald’s restaurants serve.
Jamren locations promote fundraising events and community service outreach programs.
“There is still plenty to do between now and [Sept. 22], but seeing this space come together makes all of the hiring events, orientations, training sessions, phone calls, schedules, and countless moving pieces worth it,” the online announcement continues.
