We are off and running for the 2026 high school football season.
Our Friday night Rivals top Ten loses one team from opening week.
Scranton Prep drops from 9 to 10. . The Cavaliers open with three tough games to begin the season. Prep loses in Maryland to Loyola Blakefield 41-34. This week the Cavs host Trinity
#9 is Mount Carmel. The Red tornadoes used a ground and pound game to beat Schuylkill Haven 48-41. and enter the Top ten.
Mount Carmel racked up 519 total yards in the win. Jaylen Delaney ran for 284 yards and 4 touchdowns on only 16 carries.
Dallas is #8. The Mountaineers rolled through Tunkhannock 42-0. Hunter Pitcavage scored twice in the win.
# 7 is Blue Mountain. the Eagles used all of their big plays to shutout Jim Thorpe. 48-0.
Blue Mountain scored on their first four possessions. With Cohen Kirby throwing for 161 yards and three touchdowns, two of those to Chase Guers. The Eagles face defending state 5A champs Southern Lehigh this week .
Lakeland is #6. The Chiefs who lost a game and then gained one back all in the same week easily beat Wellsboro 27-6.
#5 is Jersey Shore. It wasn’t easy for the Bulldogs in their comeback victory over North Schuylkill 49-34.
North Pocono is #4. The Trojans used a strong first half to beat Berwick 36-20 on our Friday nights Rivals game of the week.
North Pocono showed all of their talent off in a perfect first half. Cole West opened the game with a 93 yard kickoff return.
Mikey Hatala had an interception which Henry Wolffe fell on in the end zone and Chase Youngblood nailed a 47 yards field goal just before the half.
# 3 is Shamokin The Indians have no trouble with Pottsville 41-7
Dunmore is #2. The Bucks dispatch of Wyoming Area with a strong defense shutting out the Warriors 42-0.
#1 is Southern Columbia . The defending state AA champs only loss last year came to Wyomissing. This year the Tigers tame the Spartans 34-27.
There are no top ten matchups this week.
Our Friday nights Rivals crew will head to Monroe County for a cross league game. Wallenpaupack from the Lackawanna football conference will travel down to meet East Stroudsburg South from the Eastern Pennsylvania conference.
