Made in Philadelphia Market

The Made in Philadelphia Summer Market will debut for the first time at Dilworth Park over Labor Day Weekend. The free, family-friendly venue is set to run from Sept. 4 to 6 with more than 60 Philadelphia- and tri-state-area vendors setting up shop alongside City Hall.

Creatives will be selling everything from handmade jewelry to art and accessories to specialty foods, home goods and one-of-a-kind gifts. Early vendor highlights include Books And Bliss by Billa, Bessie Nails, Fairy Greens Lavender Farm, Phannies, Soul of Peonies Studio, Terri the Honey Lady and more (a full vendor lineup is available online).

Market hours are set for Friday and Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.

Museum of the American Revolution

Locals can celebrate the final days of Philadelphia’s Semiquincentennial summer at the Museum of the American Revolution over Labor Day Weekend. From Sept. 5 to 7, families can explore the venue’s special exhibition ‘The Declaration’s Journey’, step into the hands-on historical world of Revolution Place, and catch daily talks and discovery activities focused on everything from Revolutionary-era artisans to the 1963 March on Washington. On Sept. 5, living historian Daniel Sieh will also explore the experiences of Asians in 18th-century America through historical objects, documents and activities.

Note: Kids 12 and under receive free admission when tickets are purchased at the front desk throughout the holiday weekend. The museum is open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with all Labor Day programming included with regular admission. Other highlights include the History Explorers Audio Tour for ages 7 to 12 and daily 10-minute talks at 12:30, 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. over the long weekend.

Kacey Musgraves at Xfinity Mobile Arena

Eight-time Grammy Award winner Kacey Musgraves is bringing her Middle of Nowhere North American Tour to Philadelphia this Friday, Sept. 4, with a headline show at Xfinity Mobile Arena. The tour supports her sixth studio album, ‘Middle of Nowhere’, which debuted at No. 1 on the Top Album chart and features songs like ‘Dry Spell’, ‘Everybody Wants to be a Cowboy’ and ‘Abilene.’

Teddy Bear Picnic at the Philadelphia Zoo

On Saturday, Sept. 5, the Zoo’s Teddy Bear Picnic featuring the Berenstain Bears will be in full swing. From 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., families can bring their favorite stuffed animals for an afternoon of “bear-themed fun” celebrating the opening of Carey Bear Country.

Overall, the event will feature meet-and-greets, a Scavenbear Hunt, a Teddy Bear Clinic hosted by the Zoo’s veterinary team, lawn games, live music, face painting and caricature designs. Families can also pre-order a picnic basket featuring a limited-edition Berenstain Bears book, a Zoo-branded picnic blanket and more. A picnic lunch and discounted admission tickets for up to six guests can also be added to the package.

Parks on Tap at Penn Treaty Park

Parks on Tap is setting up shop at Penn Treaty Park in Fishtown over Labor Day Weekend, bringing four days of outdoor food, drinks and waterfront hangs from Sept. 4 to 7.

Set along the Delaware River with views of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, the pop-up offers an easy way to squeeze in one last summer outing. Proceeds from the pop-up benefit Philadelphia parks and local Park Friends groups. Parks on Tap runs Friday from 4 to 10 p.m. and Saturday through Monday from noon to 10 p.m.

Festival of Fountains at Longwood Gardens

This summer, visitors can experience Longwood Gardens at its peak during the Festival of Fountains season, running through Sept. 27. The activation features vibrant indoor and outdoor displays, fountain performances, three immersive treehouse experiences, giant water platters, and scenic trails through the Meadow Garden, lined with wildflowers and tall grasses.
