SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Two are facing charges after police say a dog was abandoned on a highway.
35-year-old Anthony Tolentino Tiradodo and 31-year-old Katiri Flores-Rodriguez, both from Scranton, are charged after police said a dog was located that was abandoned and neglected.
Animal control officers were following up on an animal cruelty case on Prescott Avenue in Scranton. Officers reported that they spoke with Flores-Rodriguez, who said that her husband, Tolentino Tiradodo, took their dog and had not returned.

Animal control officers stated they then learned that Tolentino Tiradodo took the dog and dumped it near I-380 and SR 435.
Officers said a bystander picked up the dog and kept it safe after the dumping.
Flores-Rodriguez admitted that the dog has never been to the vet, and when asked why the dog is so thin, she claimed that the dog gets fed once per day, according to court documents.

Both face charges of cruelty to animals, neglect of animals, and other related offenses.
