WNEP-TV is helping honor the memory of Capt. James R. Minicozzi with an interview promoting the 14th annual Capt. James R. Minicozzi Memorial Race, presented through the UNICO Scranton Chapter. The race will take place Saturday at 10 a.m. in downtown Scranton during La Festa Italiana. Preregistration is $25 at runsignup.com/Minicozzi. Race-day registration is $35 from 8-9:30 a.m. at Linden Street and North Washington Avenue. The first 100 registered participants are guaranteed a race T-shirt and a voucher for a free virtual yin yoga class from Yoga West. Participants are also eligible for bonus prize packages featuring hotel stays, gym memberships, local restaurant gift certificates and more. Bonus prizes will be awarded to the overall male and female runners, overall male and female walkers, overall military finisher and additional top finishers. Participants must be present at the awards ceremony to receive bonus prizes. Proceeds benefit the children at the Boys & Girls Clubs of NEPA for their annual Christmas party and college scholarships at West Scranton High School.
