Windy City scores three runs in eighth to beat Crushers, 5-3 – Morning Journal

Host Windy City scored three times in the eighth inning to take the lead and held on to beat the Crushers, 5-3, on Sept. 2.

The Crushers (40-56) put a runner on first base with one out in the ninth, but the ThunderBolts got the last two outs to end the game.

Crushers reliever Alexander Castro (2-5) gave up all three runs in the eighth and took the loss.

Brayden Jobert had two hits, including a two-run single, for Lake Erie. Jacob Connery had three hits, including a double, and scored twice.

The Crushers have one more game at Windy City before a season-closing home series against Joliet beginning Sept. 4.
