Thunderstorms possible for parts of south-central Pennsylvania: See timing, impacts
SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY, Pa. —
After repeated rounds of storms this week, a cold front will approach south-central Pennsylvania on Friday, triggering a few thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.
The WGAL News 8 Storm Team has declared Friday an Impact Day, meaning the weather will likely disrupt your normal daily schedule or routine.
After a mostly sunny start, skies will become partly sunny during the afternoon as temperatures rise into the mid-80s with high humidity.
Timing Morning to early afternoon: Mostly to partly sunny, warm and humid. 2 to 8 p.m.: Best chance for a few thunderstorms, mainly in southwestern counties. Friday night: Mostly cloudy and muggy, with patchy fog possible.
Many communities may remain dry because storm coverage is expected to be limited.

Severe weather risk
Franklin County and parts of Adams County are under a marginal risk (level 1/5) for severe weather. The eastern portions of the Susquehanna Valley are not outlooked for severe weather.

There’s a chance some storms could become strong enough to produce:

There is no current threat of tornadoes.
Labor Day weekend forecast
The holiday weekend will bring cooler, more comfortable conditions. Saturday will start with clouds before sunshine returns in the afternoon. Humidity will ease, although it may still feel somewhat sticky, with highs near 80 degrees.
High pressure will deliver refreshing conditions Sunday, including lower humidity, mostly sunny skies and highs around 80 degrees. The pleasant weather will continue into Labor Day, with low humidity and temperatures reaching 80 degrees again.
