Residents across Western Pennsylvania pick up the pieces after storms cause trees to fall on their homes
MONROEVILLE, Pa. —
Several communities across Allegheny and Westmoreland counties felt the impacts of Thursday’s storm. There were several situations in which trees fell on homes, like in Penn Township and Monroeville.
Homeowners of the house in Monroeville said it happened very fast. The tree covered the entirety of the home and even blocked the driveway. Bob Steinhaus told Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 that the municipality had to help cut off the branches.
“I didn’t realize how bad the damage was on the roof until we just got here this morning. But there’s an awful lot of openings. The roof’s pretty much crushed,” Steinhaus said.
Steinhaus says they are OK but are now focused on cleaning before the next possible storm.
