Doctors say warm lake, salt, and brackish waters can be breeding grounds for bacteria.
They say it can enter your skin through an open cut, scrape, or fresh tattoo and cause an infection.
Doctors say if you notice the wound getting more red or painful, if it’s seeping, or if you get a fever, you should head to the emergency room.
They advise protecting the wound with a water-resistant bandage
