The damage from this week’s storms didn’t stop the German Festival from celebrating its 30th year on Saturday.
The two-day festival kicked off Saturday at St. Nick’s Grove, where people gathered to enjoy authentic German food, music, dancing, merchandise, and plenty of beer while honoring German culture and tradition.

With limited parking, P.I. Downs and Casino is offering shuttle service.
Organizers were pleased with the turnout despite the challenging week. Parking is free, and admission is five dollars per person. Children 12 and under are free.
The festival continues Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
