Mohegan Pennsylvania is set to host its third boxing card in less than a year.

Mohegan Fall Fists is slated for Oct. 10 in the casino’s Keystone Grand Ballroom.

After hosting professional shows in November 2025 and March, a new twist on this card will be the addition of nine amateur bouts for the first time in addition to 10 professional contests.

“A few local trainers came to me and asked if I would have any interest in adding amateur bouts,” promoter Chris Coyne said. “The kids are out there grinding it out. Now they’re going to fight at the casino; this is big for them.”

The co-main event of the professional side of the card will feature a title bout as Khalid Twaiti (16-1) of Brooklyn, New York, will face Gerardo Zapata (16-3) of Miami, Florida, for the vacant United States Boxing Association Bantamweight title. To fight for the title, both boxers have to be ranked in the top 10 by the USBA. The winner of the match will be the USBA Bantamweight champion and earn a spot in the top 10 rankings for the International Boxing Federation, which sanctions the USBA.

“It’s exciting for the area,” Coyne said. “They are two guys with quality records and they’re little guys so they’re going to throw. It’s not that often you get a title fight on a local card so we jumped at it and made it happen.”

Kurt Scoby of Spring Brook Twp. will fight in the main event for the second straight show. Scoby won by first-round knockout over Cristian Perez on the March card and then scored a TKO over Alfredo Blanco in the fourth round of a bout in Philadelphia on Aug. 7.

Scoby was fighting at 147 pounds, but plans to compete at 140.

“The 147-pound division is stacked,” Coyne said. “I told him if he wants to fight at 140, he has to walk around all the time at 148 in case we get a call at the last minute to fill in for someone. We’re going to get him another fight in December or January and then put feelers out for a potential USBA title shot.”

Local professionals scheduled for the card are Scranton native Ryan Wilczak, Anthony Muta of Newfoundland, Jesse Oltmanns of Stroudsburg and Yasin Subhanallah of Scranton, who will be making his professional debut. Joining them will be Opeyemi Adeyemi (11-0), Alpha Toure (6-0) and Hadi Hadrous (2-0).

The card falls on the same day as Penn State’s annual White Out football game and Coyne said he will have two large screens set up in the bar area of the venue so fans can keep tabs on the Nittany Lions’ game against USC.

“This is a legit ESPN card,” Coyne said. “We’ve got the national flair, we’ve got other undefeated kids climbing up the ladder, we’ve got the local favorites and the amateurs. This card has everything.”
