Week two of the high school football season and there is just one change in our Friday Night Rivals Top Ten.
#10 is Scranton Prep who picks up their first win of the season. The Cavaliers beat Trinity 47-6.
Prep almost tasted victory in Maryland last week and they brought that same energy to their first home game. The Cavaliers spreading the wealth around with Braedon McPartland and Brandon Farmer each scored two touchdowns in the win.
#10 is Blue Mountain who lost to defending 5A state champion Southern Lehigh 45-36 in a shootout.
Mount Carmel is #8 . The Red Tornadoes get another win over a Schuylkill League team beating Pottsville 47-20.
#7 is Dallas. The Mountaineers roll Wyoming Valley West 45-12 to start 2-0.
Dallas can throw the ball as quarterback Talen Gesky threw 4 touchdown passes. Gesky was 8 of 9 for 178 yards.
Lakeland is #6. The Chiefs scored 28 second half points in their win over Lakel Lehman.
#5 is Jersey Shore. It was another tough game for the Bulldogs but they beat Montoursville 27-13.
North Pocono is #4. The Trojans have no trouble with Scranton winning 35-6.
# 3 is Shamokin The Indians over power Danville 53-14.
Dunmore is #2. The Bucks pound Lackawanna Trail 62-7.
Dunmore is a complete football team that trailed the lions early on. The Bucks came back scoring the next 62 with Weston Yanonne scoring three touchdowns.
#1 is Southern Columbia . The Tigers face another tough opponent in week two but in the end they beat Willaims Valley 30-12.
There are no top ten matchups this week.
Our Friday Nights Rivals team will be at Scranton Veterans Memorial stadium as undefeated West Scranton hosts Wyoming Valley West.
