(WJET/WFXP) — Nearly two dozen Erie art galleries and collectives are taking part in a community-wide night on the town.
Gallery Night will return to downtown Erie on Friday, September 18 from 5 to 10 p.m., giving the city a lively, social atmosphere for celebrating all kinds of art.
More than 20 galleries across Erie will open their doors for a night of art, live music and food, offering the community a chance to get out and engage with creative spaces around the city.
The entire event is organized in walkable geographic loops, according to the Erie Art Museum. Tours are self-guided and self-paced, with an interactive map available detailing the participating galleries.

“Gallery Night is one of the best nights of the year to be downtown. It brings people into galleries who might not otherwise walk through our doors, and our new interactive map makes it easier than ever to plan an evening around it,” said Erie Art Museum’s Executive Director Laura Domencic.
The evening is free to attend. Gallery Night also serves as the opening reception for the Erie Art Museum’s latest exhibition, Between Here and Elsewhere: A Portrait of the New American Experience.
