John ‘Jack’ Paul Fallon, Sr.
OBITUARY
John “Jack” Paul Fallon, Sr., a lifetime resident of the Nativity Section of South Scranton, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family at Allied Service Hospice Center. He was preceded in death, just 11 months ago, by his beloved wife of 51 years, the late JoAnne Regan Fallon.
He was born on July 2, 1952, to the late Robert and Pauline Mayer Fallon. A graduate of the former South Scranton Central Catholic High School and the University of Scranton, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served his country with honor. A veteran of the Vietnam War Era, Jack was stationed at Marine Corps Headquarters in Washington D.C. His dedication to his country was a source of great pride throughout his entire life.
Jack carried that same spirit of service into his career in the medical field and his dedication to youth sports at Holy Cross Biddy Basketball and Harmon Field Little League. He was a coach, mentor, and constant supporter of young athletes, giving countless hours to helping children learn not only the fundamentals of the game, but also the importance of teamwork, discipline, perseverance, and character.
Jack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. For 51 years, he shared his life with his high school sweetheart, JoAnne, building a family and a lifetime of memories together in the greatest neighborhood in Scranton. Their love was the foundation of their large Irish Catholic family.
He is survived by his children, Jack Fallon and wife Dawn of DE., Tim Fallon and wife Lori of N.C., Kevin Fallon and wife Laura of DE., Brian Fallon and wife Marissa of Scranton, Katie Acculto and husband John of Dunmore, Kerry Richards and husband Justin of Olyphant, Michael Fallon and wife Kelsey of Dunmore, Ellen Reagan and husband Larry of Clarks Summit, Marty Fallon and wife Nicole of Archbald and Mamie Fallon of Scranton; and 18 grandchildren, Lily, Jack, Brady, Owen, Quinn, David, Joshua, Maisie, Regan, Brian, John, Anna, Patrick, Sullivan, Grace Mae, Larry, Bobby and newborn Jack Reagan.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin on Monday at 9:00 AM from the Kevin K. Kearney Funeral Home, Inc., 125 N. Main Ave, Scranton, with a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Ave., Scranton. Burial with military honors by the AMVETS Honor Guard will follow at Cathedral Cemetery, 1708 Oram St., Scranton.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday between 2 – 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
