J.J. McCarthy is limited at Wednesday’s practice
The biggest question surrounding Minnesota is who will start at quarterback. J.J. McCarthy has missed the past three games with an ankle injury with Carson Wentz starting in his place.
McCarthy was a limited participant on Wednesday while Wentz practiced fully with an injury to his non-throwing shoulder. If Wentz starts on Sunday, it will be the second time he faces the team that drafted him No. 2 overall in 2016.
Everybody on the Vikings’ active roster practiced in some capacity. Outside linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel (neck), tackle Brian O’Neill (knee), and offensive lineman Donovan Jackson (wrist) all missed Minnesota’s Week 5 game before their bye and were limited practice participants on Wednesday.
Starting center Michael Jurgens, who missed Week 5 with a hamstring injury, was a full participant. Linebacker Blake Cashman (hamstring) and outside linebacker Tyler Batty (knee) are both within their 21-day practice window and were full participants.
