Officers tase 15-year-old who allegedly threatened them with knife after crash in Pittsburgh

A 15-year-old is accused of threatening officers with a knife after crashing a vehicle in downtown Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh police were called to Sixth Avenue and Ross Street around 10 a.m. for a ‘suspicious vehicle’ that had crashed.

Officials say the driver, a 15-year-old, ran from the crash and into the BNY Mellon parking garage.

Authorities say they searched the garage until the 15-year-old eventually came out of the building around Seventh Avenue and Ross Street.

Police say the teenager was tased by officers after they threatened him with a knife.

The 15-year-old faces multiple charges including receiving stolen property (theft of motor vehicle), driving without a license, simple assault – physical menace, and resisting arrest.
