SOUTH ABINGTON TOWNSHIP, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — A mother and daughter from Benton Township were killed Friday in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 81 in Lackawanna County.
Lackawanna County Coroner Timothy Rowland said the crash happened on I-81 North near mile marker 194.5 in South Abington Township.
Both women were taken by ambulance to Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, where they were pronounced dead.
Their names have not yet been released as authorities work to notify their next of kin.
Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the crash.
Additional details about what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway were not immediately available.
