The crash happened in the 1600 block of South Fourth Street around 11:35 p.m., according to Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio.
The Allentown woman was taken to the emergency department at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest, where she was pronounced dead at 3:01 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, Buglio said.
She was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to the coroner.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 14, at the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office and Forensic Center to help determine her cause of death.
The woman has been positively identified, but the coroner’s office was still attempting to contact her next of kin when the release was issued. Her name will not be released immediately to allow her family time to notify additional loved ones and privately grieve.
The crash remains under investigation by the Allentown Police Department, Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, and coroner’s office.
