News report says incident involved fall from railcar
CONWAY, Pa. — The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating a Tuesday, Sept. 8, incident in which a Norfolk Southern conductor suffered severe injuries, the board said in a social media post today (Wednesday, Sept. 9).
The incident occurred just after 7 p.m. at the railroad’s Conway Yard, according to WTAE-TV, which also reports the conductor fell from a tank car while his train was moving into Conway’s receiving yard. He was flown to a hospital for treatment.
In addition to the NTSB, the Federal Railroad Administration and Norfolk Southern police are investigating.
