Crews from the City of Erie are moving through neighborhoods to clear limbs left behind by recent storms.
The Department of Public Works will follow a neighborhood-by-neighborhood schedule for limb removal.
Residents should place storm-related tree limbs in piles between the curb and sidewalk.
The city is also asking residents to move their vehicles from the street when crews are scheduled to be in their neighborhood.
Officials say cars blocking access to debris could prevent crews from safely completing collections.
Jeff Gibbens, assistant director of Public Works, said crews can remove tree limbs but cannot take large stumps.
“The only thing we can’t take are the giant stumps, where that tree was cut off, where that tree is tipped up. That is the homeowner’s responsibility. That’s an insurance claim or whatever they have to do with that. We don’t have the ability to take those out.”
