Senator Dan Laughlin has announced that the Erie County Historical Society, the Presque Isle Light Station, and the expERIEnce Children’s Museum have all received funding through Pennsylvania’s Cultural and Historical Support Grant Program.
The grants total a combined $44,000. The program recognizes these three organizations as those working to preserve Erie’s history while creating educational experiences for residents and visitors.
Grants include:
The Erie County Historical Society received $30,000
The Presque Isle Light Station received $8,000
The expERIEnce Children’s Museum received $6,000
The funding will support the continued work at each organization. The grant program is administered by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission by providing support to eligible museums and eligible historical societies throughout Pennsylvania.
Already this year $4 million has been donated within 60 Pennsylvania counties support 182 museums and historical organizations.
