BETHLEHEM, Pa. — The spirit of civic engagement has taken center stage across the region this week as United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley launched its 33rd annual Day of Caring, mobilizing more than 1,700 volunteers to complete over 100 community service projects.
Among the organizations receiving hands-on support was Lehigh Valley Public Media, where local volunteers spent time preparing essential materials for tonight’s Common Threads mixer, an event dedicated to addressing and ending violence against women. Each packet equips attendees with vital local and national resources, including hotlines and support networks for domestic violence, intimate partner abuse, and human trafficking.
A volunteer crew gathered inside the station’s facility to assemble event information packets, establishing the foundation for an evening meant to foster dialogue and action surrounding women’s safety and community support.
