EASTON, Pa. – A new destination for hand-crafted, premium rum, brandy and other spirits will celebrate its grand opening this weekend in Northampton County.
In conjunction with the Easton Business Association, Original Degenerate Distilling Company LLC, a distiller of premium rums, flavored moonshines and more, will hold a ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration at 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at 437 Northampton St. in downtown Easton, according to a news release.

Original Degenerate Distilling Company will offer visitors a unique destination experience featuring handcrafted spirits, distillery tours, tastings and a full cocktail bar.
The new business will produce a variety of premium, made-on-site spirits, including rum, flavored rum, brandy, vodka, and eventually whiskey.
Guests attending the grand opening and ribbon-cutting celebration will enjoy light fare while exploring the new facility and learning more about the art and science of distilling.
“This journey started 15 years ago on a napkin while sitting at a fine establishment in Centre Square,” said founder Chris Plumaker said.

“As a lifelong visitor and resident of the Easton area, I’ve watched the city evolve and grow. My goal was to create an experience here in Easton that people would normally travel elsewhere to enjoy. We want to share the story of Easton’s open rebellion during Prohibition while educating visitors about the craft of distillation and cocktail creation.”
Originally from neighboring Harmony, New Jersey, Plumaker developed his vision for opening a distillery while working weekends at a winery hosting tasting events and festivals.
What began as an idea gradually evolved through years of planning, approvals, construction, licensing, equipment installation, product development, and countless hours of dedication.
“Since receiving approval from the Easton Zoning and Planning Boards in May of last year, the business has transformed from a simple idea into a fully operational distillery,” Plumaker said. “We’re excited to finally open our doors and share this experience with Easton residents and visitors.”
The Easton Business Association encourages residents, visitors and members of the business community to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony and help celebrate the addition of Original Degenerate Distilling Co. to downtown Easton’s growing hospitality and tourism scene.
