Total domination was the name of the game for the Bethlehem Banshees as they tuned up for a showdown with the state’s top-ranked team Monday night.
Catherine Deopere and Allie Greenwell each notched a hat trick in the Banshees’ 11-0 romp of the Nelson County Cardinals in a 19th District game at Five Star Field.
Bethlehem won its fifth straight game, and the Banshees ended this one in one half.
Neely Cheek scored twice for Bethlehem, which moved to 9-3 overall and 2-1 in the district. Zoe Thurmond added a goal and an assist, while Anna Stith and Aubrey Reynolds each scored once.
Sophia Miles, Grace Smith, Taylor Janes, Avery Perkins and Savannah Phillips each had one assist for the Banshees, who have won the last five games by shutout. Bethlehem has outscored its opponents 23-0 during that stretch.
Goalkeeper Reonna Morgan didn’t face a shot on goal from Nelson County, picking up her seventh clean sheet of the season.
The Cardinals lost their fourth game in a row, falling to 3-8 overall and 1-2 in the district.
Bethlehem plays at No. 1 Central Hardin at 7:30 tonight. The Bruins are unbeaten on the year, bringing an 11-0-2 record into the matchup.
Nelson County hosts 5th Region rival LaRue County at 6 tonight.
Bardstown 5, Spencer County 4
Jocelyn Jerome had two goals and an assist as the visiting Tigers (6-4-3) held off the Bears Monday evening.
Raylee Brothers and Gracie Edelen each added a goal and an assist, while Evelyn Riley also scored once. Emma Rust chipped in with one assist.
Brothers stopped five of the eight shots she faced from Spencer County. Aniyah Warren and Suji Holleran each came up with one save in relief.
Bardstown plays at Greenwood at 6 tonight.
Thomas Nelson 6, Franklin County 1
The homestanding Generals celebrated Senior Night with a big win over the Flyers Monday night.

Thomas Nelson, which is now 5-3-1 on the year, has won two games in a row. The Generals play at North Bullitt at 5:30 p.m. today and against Brown at 7 p.m. Thursday at Western High School in Louisville.
All ‘A’ sectional games rescheduled
The Banshees will host Brown in the All ‘A’ sectionals at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Five Star Field. The game had to be rescheduled because of weather concerns last week.
The winner advances to the All ‘A’ State Tournament, which will be played Sept. 25 and Sept. 27 at Louisville Collegiate. The Bethlehem-Brown winner will face the winner of the 7th/8th Region sectional in the All ‘A’ quarterfinals at 10 a.m. Sept. 25.
VOLLEYBALL
Bardstown 3, LaRue County 0 (25-20, 25-20, 25-17)
Addison Devers had 10 kills and SaNya Barber finished with seven kills, four aces and 10 digs as the homestanding Tigers swept the Hawks Monday night.
Rachel Smith chipped in with five kills, while Molly Kisegy added 22 digs. Destiny Ingram handed out 22 assists and Avery Schat and Aubree Calbert combined for seven aces for Bardstown, which improved to 5-7 overall with its fourth win in five matches.
The Tigers, who played at Bullitt Central Tuesday night, host 19th District rival Nelson County at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Bardstown Elementary School.
Bullitt East 3, Nelson County 0 (25-10, 25-17, 25-23)
The visiting Cardinals’ season long losing streak reached 10 matches in a row with Monday’s loss to the Chargers in Shepherdsville.
