Scranton man arrested after high-speed chase ends in crash
LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Authorities have released details of an arrest made in connection to a high-speed police chase that occurred in Lackawanna County in April.
According to information obtained in a criminal complaint, authorities arrested Amir Hunter, 23, of Scranton, on June 9th at a residence in the 100 block of East Main Street in Big Run, Pennsylvania. He was arrested for his alleged involvement in a high-speed police chase that took place in Lackawanna County back in April of 2026.

According to police, Hunter fled from law enforcement during a traffic stop on Main Street in Carbondale, resulting in a high-speed chase down the Casey Highway that ended when he crashed his car in Scranton. Hunter then ran away on foot, evading police, court records state.
A warrant for Hunter’s arrest was issued, and he was later arrested for felony fleeing and eluding with the intent of avoiding lawful prosecution in Lackawanna County.
Hunter is currently being held in Lackawanna County Prison unable to post bail, which was set at $20,000.00.
