Penn State Berks kicks off Hispanic Heritage Month celebration with mariachi band, mexican food | Reading Area

SPRING TWP., Pa. – A mariachi band helped kick off the Hispanic Heritage Month celebration at Penn State Berks on Wednesday.

The university hosted a gathering at Perkins Plaza this afternoon, which coincided with the Mexican Day of Independence.

Mexican and Mexican-American faculty and staff spoke at the event, and attendees sampled some tasty Mexican food.

The event is part of the college’s ongoing efforts to support the local Hispanic and Latino communities.
