Pittsburgh homicide suspect arrested, charged in fatal shooting

PITTSBURGH —
A suspect in a fatal shooting in Pittsburgh was arrested Tuesday in Penn Hills, authorities said.
Pittsburgh police said Jamaal Cook, 38, of Pittsburgh, was taken into custody by detectives from the city’s Fugitive Apprehension Unit, with assistance from SWAT.
Police said Cook is charged in the death of Deven Turner, who was shot on July 24 at the Bedford Dwellings apartment complex in the city’s Hill District neighborhood.

According to the criminal complaint, an argument stemmed from a woman throwing bleach on Turner, and police say Cook and Turner went into a hallway when shots were fired.
Cook was taken to the Allegheny County Jail on a charge of criminal homicide and two firearms offenses, police said.
