An effort to promote the library and its resources is taking place in Erie.
September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month.
The Erie County Public Library is offering promotions for those looking to get their card for the first time, or if you haven’t been there for a while and are looking to come back.
The Assistant Director of Literacy Services of the library, Tammy Blount, said getting your card allows you to utilize all there is to offer beyond the books.

“Digital resources, videos, movies, playaways, you can use your free Wi-Fi here or you can use our computers if you need to apply for jobs, or do anything online,” Blount said.
It’s free to get your library card, just like our very own Briaunna Malone did this morning.
All you have to do is prove you are an Erie County resident by providing a picture ID or a bill with your address on it.
