The upcoming Erie Irish Festival stopped by Hello Erie for this week’s Taste of Erie segment, giving viewers a preview of the food, fun and Irish traditions that await at the annual celebration.
During the segment, Belle got to experience a festival favorite firsthand by trying a Reuben sandwich for the very first time. Festival representatives also showcased some of their newest merchandise and brought a variety of traditional Irish foods to the studio.
The menu featured peanut butter cookies, potato soup, soda bread and Irish stew, offering a small taste of the festival’s Irish-inspired offerings. The foods are among the many items visitors can enjoy throughout the weekend celebration.
The Erie Irish Festival will take place Sept. 18-20 at Saint Patrick Church, 130 E. Fourth St. in downtown Erie, in front of the church on East Fourth Street between French and Holland streets. The free event celebrates Irish heritage with live music, Irish dancing, food, beverages, family activities and vendors.
Festival organizers say attendees can expect a full weekend of entertainment, authentic Irish fare and community fun as Erie celebrates Irish culture in the heart of downtown. Admission for the event is free.
