Whether you’re an Eagles fan like Malala (who knew?) or a modern art lover, Pennsylvanians had a lot to be proud of this week. There was the commonwealth’s first male individual trampolinist to reach elite status – Lackawanna County’s Brody Hahnebach – and Philadelphia’s push to preserve the world’s last mural in its original location by Keith Haring, the Reading-born pop artist. But there’s plenty of room for improvement: For the sixth straight year, Philadelphia International ranked dead last among large U.S. airports in J.D. Power’s survey of customer satisfaction. Meanwhile, the commonwealth ranks a dubious first in America’s current measles outbreak, with more virus-linked deaths in 2026 than in any year since the 1990s.
