ARMSTRONG COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A scammer impersonating a WWE superstar was able to steal tens of thousands of dollars from a Pennsylvania man, state police said Monday.
The scammer made themselves seem like they were a professional wrestler to steal $42,700 in March from the 64-year-old man who lives in North Buffalo Township, Armstrong County, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
The wrestler the scammer impersonated was Rhea Ripley, state police said.

No arrests have been announced since Thursday, and troopers said the victim does not want to cooperate.
Ripley was recently stripped of the WWE Women’s Champion title and she has reportedly been recovering from a torn meniscus in her right knee. She last competed in May.
“Ripley has dominated the WWE landscape in a way that we haven’t seen before, putting her on a trajectory of rarefied air,” her bio reads.
