Multiple fire crews were called to respond to a house fire on Fremont Street in Wesleyville Friday morning. Fire departments from Wesleyville, Millcreek, Northeast, Belle Valley, and several other neighboring areas worked together to battle the flames.

The fire intensified, spreading to the neighboring house. However, firefighters successfully contained the flames before they could extend further to the next home. According to a Fairview Fire Police officer, a photo captured at the scene before Erie News Now’s arrival showed the home fully engulfed in flames.
One neighbor shared that they heard popping noises and quickly took action by alerting the homeowner, urging them to evacuate. Thankfully, the homeowner managed to escape the burning house unharmed. The neighbor noted that the homeowner attempted to rescue his cats before safely leaving the property.
At this time, the cause of the fire remains undetermined. Authorities are continuing their investigation, and updates will be shared as additional details emerge.
