S. WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. — What is your biggest fear?
Monsters lurking at Dorney Park in South Whitehall Township are determined to find the answer as they return to the park for another year of its Halloween Haunt.
“Our team has been working nonstop to get it ready for Halloween,” said Kristen Bartholomew, the marketing manager at Dorney Park.
Featuring five scare zones and six haunted mazes, including the new Blair Witch: No Signal, the park offers all things Halloween with a side of terror.
“I love honestly seeing people run terrified, screaming out of the mazes,” said Kimberly Solis, park manager.
69 News reporter Sydney Kay got an inside look at what it takes to be a creature lurking through the park.
“I’m going to make you a zombie,” said Tara Santa, the entertainment area manager at Dorney Park.
She and her team prep hundreds of monsters every haunt.
“Every 15 minutes, we’re cycling people in and out of here, so this is controlled chaos… We make about 90% of our costumes that you’ll see in the attractions,” she explained.
For those not looking for a fright, there are plenty of family-fun activities and trick-or-treating to do, while staying safe.
“If you’re a little bit afraid of the scares, you can wear a ‘No Boo’ necklace that you can purchase in stores and throughout the park and then the monsters will be repelled by you,” said Solis.
Paired with some horrifying gear, food, and drinks, it’s the perfect package for guests looking to celebrate All Hallows Eve.
“You never know what’s lurking around in the dark, in the fog. You never know. If you like scares, it’s great. If you don’t like scares, it’s also great,” said Bartholomew.
Halloween Haunt opens Friday, September 18th at 6 p.m. and runs select nights through Saturday, October 31st.
