Friday night officially kicks off the Erie Irish Festival’s events for the weekend.
Throughout the festival, visitors can expect live music and Irish dancers, activities and a menu filled with Irish classics from Reubens and baked goods to Irish beers, whiskey and coffee.
Erie Irish Festival returns this weekend
Organizers say to celebrate the halfway point to Saint Patrick’s Day, and as one of the last festivals in the year, the celebration is the perfect sendoff into the winter months.
And this evening, things are just getting started.
“What we do, is we have kind of like an opening parade, so the Irish dancers lead us in, we have some bagpipers, we have St. Patrick who leads us in, and then the night kind of gets started,” said Mary Therese Causgrove, a chairperson for the festival.
The festival runs until 10:30 Friday night before picking back up at 11 a.m. Saturday morning.
