The Jefferson Educational Society (JES) is preparing to launch its annual Global Summit, bringing a wide-ranging lineup of nationally recognized leaders, authors, journalists, scholars, business executives, and public officials to Erie this fall.
The nonpartisan think tank will kick off the series on September 22 and continue through November 19, featuring more than 25 speakers across 19 events focused on politics, technology, history, education, national security, business, and civic engagement.
Among the newest additions to the schedule is Margaret Hoover, host of PBS’ Firing Line with Margaret Hoover, who will headline a Post Election Conversation on November 17. Hoover has served in the George W. Bush administration, worked on Capitol Hill and presidential campaigns, and is president of the American Unity Fund, an organization focused on equality for LGBT Americans. She is also a bestselling author whose work has appeared in numerous national publications.
This year’s summit opens September 22 with Hugh Hewitt, nationally syndicated radio host, constitutional law professor, and political commentator, discussing the future of the Republican Party in “President Trump, the MAGA Movement and 2028: What’s Next for the GOP.”
Several events will highlight regional entrepreneurship and economic growth.
Tickets for Global Summit events begin at $25. Consistent with previous years, students will be admitted free of charge with advance registration and proof of enrollment through JES.
