LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire is honoring a former performer on Saturday who passed in early August from heart complications while on a cruise in Alaska.

Shannon Jones, also known as former performer Lady Amanda Chase and Shannon Sunflowers, took yearly trips to the Renaissance Fair since she was only five years old, according to Jones’ online journal.

Her mother, Tamara Sweitzer, said on Facebook that Jones was battling four incurable diseases that damaged her lungs and that “she passed because her heart gave out.”

Her friends and family will share their favorite memories, and the ladies of Chaste Treasure will honor her by performing in her honor.

In a post on Facebook, Chaste Treasure said, “We’ve grown so much since Lady Amanda first sang with us at NJRF. And this weekend, we hope you will live like Shannon as a Battle Raven that embraces all that life has to offer.”

The “time of remembrance” will be held at 2 p.m. at Sir Jacobs Ladder, where people are invited to sing and share their memories of Jones.
