SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — A Scranton man is facing charges after police say he slashed another man in the neck during an altercation earlier this week.
Scranton police announced the arrest of Tyquan Fields, 33, in connection with the Sept. 15 incident in the 1200 block of Jackson Street.
Police said patrol officers were called to Geisinger Community Medical Center after a man arrived with a cut to his neck. The victim told investigators he had been involved in a physical confrontation with a man he knew as “Ty.”
Investigators said the two men knew each other and had agreed to meet over a dispute involving a woman.
According to police, witnesses provided information about a vehicle connected to the suspect. Investigators identified the vehicle’s owner as Fields.
The department’s Major Crimes Unit continued the investigation, interviewing additional witnesses and collecting information that police said identified Fields as the man who allegedly cut the victim’s neck with a knife during the confrontation.
The victim was released from the hospital the following day.
Police obtained an arrest warrant for Fields, who later surrendered at Scranton Police Headquarters.
Fields is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.
