ALLENTOWN, Pa. — It’s now up to the jury to decide the fate of two men charged in a deadly shooting at an Allentown lounge.
A man working security at the lounge was killed and several other people were wounded in the February 2025 shooting.
Closing arguments were made in court Monday morning in the homicide trial.
Pedro Paulino and David Rivera both face homicide and assault charges in connection to this shooting at the BKK Lounge on Union Boulevard.
Investigators say Ivan Diaz Jr. was killed and three others were wounded.
Police said the shooting followed a fight that began inside the lounge and continued outside, where shots were fired.
Surveillance video of the shooting was played in court Monday.
During closing arguments, the defense said Diaz, the victim, had been drinking while he was working security and did not appear to be dressed as a security guard.
They say Diaz was acting aggressively.
Prosecutors argue Rivera and Paulino were both looking for a fight that night, citing how Rivera got into a fight with an unknown man four minutes into stepping into the lounge.
Prosecutors say Paulino and Rivera could have left at anytime, but made the decision to go back and shoot.
The jury began deliberations after closing arguments on Monday.
