Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a crash involving an e-bike and a car Sunday afternoon in Girard Township.
The crash happened around 2:15 p.m. at the intersection of West Lake Road and Culbertson Drive.
Investigators say a 17-year-old boy from Lake City was operating an e-bike on Culbertson Drive when he failed to stop at the stop sign. Police say he entered West Lake Road and collided with a westbound Volkswagen Passat driven by 39-year-old Joshua Moses, also of Lake City.
The teenager was thrown from the e-bike, landing on the shoulder of the road, the e-bike went on to a grassy area. He suffered serious injuries. A Lake City Fire Department ambulance transported the teen to UPMC Hamot.
Moses and two passengers in his vehicle — Kimberly Hulley and a 6-year-old boy — were not injured.
State police continue to investigate the accident.
