Pennsylvania receives $32 million to expand electric vehicle charging stations
Pennsylvania is expanding its electric vehicle charging network with $32 million in federal funding to support the program.
This month, the state opened its 50th charging station in the Harrisburg area, and 38 additional stations are under construction.
The state sought public input to guide the placement of the stations.
“What we heard is that convenience, accessibility, all of that really matters. People want charging where they’re already going, where they shop, where they work, where they recreate,” Becky Bradley, executive director of the Lehigh Valley Planning Committee, said.
The state aims to establish a network of chargers along the interstate system, ensuring a station is available every 50 miles.
