Pittsburgh: Soggy period coming to an end
Rain showers end Wednesday morning.
PITTSBURGH —
The heavy and widespread rain is done. A few showers will linger through Wednesday morning before we finally dry out and warm up to close out September.
Showers ending
Scattered showers linger through the day. A Flood Watch remains in place for eastern Westmoreland and Fayette, Monongalia, and Preston counties through 8 am Wednesday.
It still won’t take much for flooding in low-lying and poor drainage area. Periods of rain will continue through about midday Wednesday before we start to dry out.
Fall chill ending as well
Temperatures have been stuck in the 50s for the last couple of days, and once sunshine starts returning Wednesday, we will end the chilly air in place. Highs will warm through the rest of the week with us returning to 70 by Saturday and into the middle and upper 70s, above average, by the end of the month.

Drying out late week
We will finally be rain free by Thursday with sunshine returning as we head through the weekend. The weather will cooperate for high school, college and the Steeler games. As of now, once rain comes to an end Wednesday morning, we are dry likely through the end of September.
