As temperatures begin to drop and cold and flu season approaches, Philadelphia residents can protect themselves and their families with free flu and COVID-19 vaccines.
The city is offering both vaccines at City Health Centers across Philadelphia for residents ages 6 months and older. No appointment is required, and there is no cost to receive the vaccines.
Health officials say the annual flu shot remains the most effective way to prevent severe illness from influenza, particularly for children, older adults and people with weakened immune systems. The COVID-19 vaccine continues to reduce the risk of severe disease and infection, especially among adults 65 and older.
With respiratory viruses more common during the fall and winter, getting vaccinated now can help Philadelphians head into the season with an added layer of protection.
